The Filigree flower pendant silver necklace with a half black clay pearl in the center is handmade jewelry by Mexican artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico. Each black clay piece is shaped by hand and baked in a fire of thick black smoke. The combination of clay and process makes these ‘Black Clay’ or ‘Barro Negro’ clay pieces one of the most sought-after.

About Black Clay:
It is a fine clay which is stained black thanks to an evenly distributed black pigment. World-famous, the black clay of Oaxaca comes from one region and one region only: San Bartolo Coyotepec. The special properties of this clay cannot be found anywhere else.
